Our Artisans

We work with independent Colombian artisans who are specialists in their crafts, recognised informally and nationally as experts in their respective fields.

Laureano Melo

Laureano Melo (Laurearte) is the talented artisan who creates every piece in our Terracotta Collection. Laureano learned this complex craft from his mother, carrying forward the rich heritage of Ráquira and the centuries of knowledge held in his family.

Terracotta Clay Pottery

Blanca Nubia Sierra Silva

Blanca Nubia Sierra Silva is one of the artisans behind our woven Esparto collection. Working from her home in Boyacá, Blanca uses ancient techniques to turn hand-harvested grass into enduring, everyday objects.

Esparto Grass Weaves

Rosa Magnolia Salazar

Rosa is a master of Barro Negro (black clay) and lives and works with her family in the village of La Chamba. Using traditional methods of hand-shaping and polishing, open kiln firing, and smoking with organic materials, these pieces are transformed to a satin-black finish.

Doña Blanca Lilia Leguizamon

Doña Blanca leads the Asopafit Association of Weavers based in Tibaná, Boyacá. This association promotes traditional weaving skills while creating sustainable employment. The pieces are handcrafted using natural materials and shaped into beautiful baskets and household items.
